Don't know where to start? This is the class for you. Know Your Sewing Machine is a class for absolute beginners and a fantastic course to get you on your way.

In this one off class you will learn how to thread and operate a sewing machine along with the basic stitching techniques you will need. During the class you will make a simple cushion to take home with you and have everything you need to refer to in the future. This course will provide you with the confidence needed to happily use your sewing machine for future projects.
The topics we aim to cover in this lesson:
- How to thread the machine
- How to wind on the bobbin and insert the bobbin into the machine
- Practise stitching straight, curves and corners
- ZigZag stitches
- Understanding tension and problem solving tension issues
- Importance of completing the stitch cycle
- Importance of steering the fabric
- Machine feet and how to use them
- Have a go at creating seams
Materials needed:
- Fabric size 40cm square x 2
We have sewing machines for you to use but if you would like to bring your own please advise us at the time of booking.
