Together you will make a boxy zipped bag, which can be used as a pencil case, wash bag, or whatever comes to mind! We will show you the techniques needed in simple stages and then together you will create your own bag or bags.

What we will cover in this session: 

  • How to measure and cut out your fabric
  • Sewing on a machine
  • Insert a zip
  • Making a handle for your bag
  • Easy trims
  • Creating the box shape

What you need to bring with you:

  • 40cm of your chosen fabric (cotton or cotton blends) which can be purchased from our shop
  • Any trims you may like to embellish your bag with (ric rac, ribbon, buttons, beads etc)
  • Reel of thread to match
  • 40cm normal zip to match

We have sewing machines for your use, but if you would prefer to bring your own, then please advise us at the time of at time of booking.


Tea, coffee, squash and biscuits are included in your lesson.
